THE CHALLENGE

Dorner Electronics, a market leader in control software in the building material industry, approached us to develop a Virtual Reality Application showing their vision of where their software could be in 10 years, presenting it at the BAUMA Munich fair. The biggest building Fair in Europe.

As this fair is mainly visited by professionals working in this segment, it was of great importance that the application and the vision it represents, is plausible and attractive at the same time.

THE SOLUTION

As technology becomes more dynamic and compact, we envisioned the software offered by Dorner Electronics in the future, to be a wearable and interactive Augmented Reality headset.

The VR Application allows the user to step into the role of the Cement-Mix-Master, who would normally control a cement factory by using Dorner Electronics Software from a control room. By using the real 3D schematics of an existing cement factory based in Ulm, we were able to apply the current software features as an interactive Augmented Reality layer on top of the factory.

The user could now not only interact and move freely around on the premisses but also start automated animation showing the cement process and controlling it on the go.

The showcase of the vision of Dorners software development was a great success at the BAUMA Munich and created quite a buzz on the fair.
